Video: Adolfo SUAREZ ROOS at the ROS-Industrial Europe scientific conference

On 17 November 2025, Adolfo, one of our robotics and cobotics experts at IRT Jules Verne, took part in the ROS-Industrial Conference in Strasbourg and represented IRT Jules Verne at this major event in the open-source industrial robotics ecosystem.

Adolfo gave a presentation on ‘ROS2 on Yaskawa robots and applications’, highlighting the developments carried out by the institute in the context of two industrial applications: welding monitoring and force control for the finishing of parts.

These developments come from research carried out as part of two projects

  • The European COGNIMAN project, aimed at improving complex manufacturing processes for automation
  • The RECIF project, focused on reducing the industrialisation costs of wind turbine floats, resulting from the France 2030 call for projects ‘Development of technological building blocks and demonstrators for energy systems’

These developments enable Yaskawa robots to be better integrated into the ROS 2 environment, allowing the required performance to be achieved whilst minimising constraints on real-time responsiveness. The Yaskawa ROS CONTROL driver presented here will be officially released as open-source for Roscon France 2026, taking place from 22 to 25 June in Paris.
